The mirror glass is aspherical, which means that it has a variety of magnifying gradients across the surface of the mirror. The central area of the mirror glass has a slightly more powerful magnification, in order to clearly show cars in the background, whilst the periphery of the mirror glass has a lower magnification, in order to capture a bigger picture of what there is behind your Volvo. This is nothing unusual as the mirror glass is manufactured in the same way as your Volvo original mirror glass for Volvo S60, S80 och V70.
The mirror glass is laminated, which creates a water repellent effect; small water drops combine to make large ones that then run off the glass. The electrical outlet for heating the glass, which is found on the back of the glass, gets connected to the outlet within the mirror housing.
