HOW TO CHANGE CASE AND BATTERY FOR S60 04-09, S80 04-05, V70, XC70 04-07, XC90 04-15 CAR KEY

Note that this is only the case of the key with the spring. Read carefully how the change takes place in the guide so that the transponder and circuit board are not missed to be transferred to the new case.

Key case for Volvo S60, S80, V70, XC70, XC90. Fits all cars with the "stiletto key".

Common on cars with model year 97-08

If it says 2032 on your old battery, this fits. 

Open the cover on the back of the key, push a screwdriver into the hole and fold up the cover.

Remove the battery and insert the new 2032 battery with the plus side up.

Under the cover you just loosened, there is a torx 9 that you have to unscrew.

Fold up the key, press the upper part of the key forward and the case splits

Split the lower part of the shell to access the circuit board (SEE PICTURE)

Repeat steps 1,4,5 and 6 on the new case

Insert the circuit board into the new case and press the case together.

Split the part where the key blade is located. It is glued so you need to break it up with a screwdriver or carefully saw it apart.

Do the same on the new case (except for the chip)

Put glue in the groove on the new case and then put in the chip.

Mount the old key blade in the new case, this can be a bit tricky to get the spring in tension.

Check that the spring works properly.

Put the upper and lower part of the case together.

Insert the new CR2032 battery with the positive side up
