A common sign that a brake caliper needs replacing is that your car pulls to one side when braking, or that the brake pads are being worn down more in one wheel than in another.
If the piston in the brake caliper isn't running as it should do, this can worsen the braking performance, which in turn will make your Volvo pull to the side when braking. If the piston in the brake caliper gets stuck in the outer, active, position, instead of gliding back into place after braking, this will result in added wear and tear of the brake pads. In some cases this can also result in skewed brake discs.
A tip is to also replace the brake hose when replacing the brake caliper. You can find the correct brake hose for your Volvo 140, 240, 740, 940, 850, S70, V70, C70, C30, S40, S60, S80, V40, V60, V90, XC60, XC70, XC90 as an add-product for the brake caliper.
