In the heart of every car enthusiast lies the dream of creating something unique, something that stands out not only by its appearance but also as a tribute to what could have been the pinnacle of luxury at its time. Our project, a Volvo V70XC originally from the USA, started this very journey. A rare gem in itself, our goal was to transform it into the most equipped with every conceivable accessory from the late 90s. This is the story of how we took a standard V70XC and turned it into what we believe is the most fully equipped version ever made.

The first step in our project was a comprehensive and methodical dismantling of the car. We began the process by removing every bumper, every trim and every additional part that could be removed. This careful disassembly was not only necessary to prepare the car for painting, but also gave us a unique opportunity to inspect each component individually. By examining each part, we were able to identify potential problem areas, such as rust or wear, that might require extra attention or replacement.

After getting our Volvo back, shiny in its new paint Sandstone, the real challenge began. Fitting every part, every screw and clip without getting a scratch on the paint was a test of patience and a test of memory. The car had been dismantled thoroughly, perhaps too thoroughly, as we found ourselves playing a complex 3D puzzle. However, the satisfaction of seeing it come back together, piece by piece, was unparalleled.

With the car's exterior in pristine condition, our focus shifted to the mechanical The V70XC is known for its robust construction, but time spares no vehicle! In this phase of the project, we were faced with rusty bolts that looked more like archaeological finds than working components. Every bolt became a battle, every nut a test, but our determination did not waver. Our focus was on increasing the car's capacity - literally. We installed an elevation kit on our Volvo V70XC. While raising our Volvo V70XC, we also took the opportunity to refresh the braking system. 

No restoration is complete without a deep dive under the hood. We replaced the old exhaust system with a sportier set-up, which promised a sound worthy of its appearance. However, our triumph was short-lived when we encountered oil leaks, a reminder that beauty is not only superficial. The engine, the heart of our project, needed attention. It was a setback, but not the end of our road.

Our ambition with the V70XC went beyond simply recreating its former beauty. We aim to transform it into what it could actually be with all the available extras: the epitome of 90s luxury. Our quest led us through a maze of rare and almost legendary parts - from Masur birch interior panels to Homelink sun visors, gullwing roof box equipped with rifle holders and much more. Each unique addition brought us one step closer to our vision. Our V70XC didn't just undergo a restoration; it was transformed into the finest example of the vehicle's design and functionality, just as it could have been with every conceivable option chosen in the 90s.

This journey wasn't just about building a car; it was about honoring what Volvo stands for - safety, comfort and a hint of adventure. We embarked on this project not just as car enthusiasts, but as stewards of a piece of automotive history. Our Volvo V70XC, now complete with every optional extra, stands as living proof of the amazing results that passion, perseverance and hard work can produce. It's a beacon for those who believe that every car has a story waiting to be told, and sometimes those stories are worth every effort. 

We aimed to make our project car a test bed for innovation, a chance not only to build a special car but also an opportunity to test and develop new parts for that model. The parts we designed and perfected are now in production, available for those who share our passion and wish to enhance their own vehicles.
