POLESTAR STYLE WING FOR VOLVO V60

Wing for Volvo V60 in the "Polestar" style. The wing is made of composite plastic which is both durable and rigid combined with a relatively low weight. Excellent fit and surface finish. The wing is intended to be mounted with both glue and fastenings and comes with a mounting point for the original wing-mounted brake light.

Here's how to mount a Polestar-style wing onto a Volvo V60 10-17:

Step 1

Begin by removing the panel on the inside of the rear hatch. It's held in place by clips, so pull it straight out.

Step 2

Loosen the connector for the antenna at the passage point for the rear window washer. It's secured by a latch that you need to press in before pulling it out. Also, disconnect the washer hose.

Step 3

Disconnect the brake light connector. It might be helpful to loosen the screw (10mm) to gain better access to the connector.

Step 4

Unscrew the nuts (10mm) that are holding the wing in place. Tilt the hatch down slightly to prevent the nuts from falling inside the hatch.

Step 5

Lift off the rear spoiler. The spoiler is attached with double-sided adhesive tape at the front and clips. Grasp the rear spoiler and pull it directly upwards.

Step 6

Remove the brake light from the old rear spoiler. It's secured by two 8mm nuts.

Step 7

If the brake light has scratches or cracks, you can purchase a new one here!

Step 8

Slide the washer nozzle towards the brake light and angle it out. (The lock is located towards the brake light.)

Step 9

Remove the hose from the washer nozzle and take it out completely.

Step 10

Use demounting tools to separate the upper and lower parts of the rear spoiler.

Step 11

Remove the metal plate that is located inside the plastic of the rear spoiler.

Step 12

Mount the metal plate onto the new rear spoiler.

Step 13

Thread the cable through the passage, strip the cable, and splice it together with the antenna connector (if you've cut it earlier). Purchase soldered joint sleeve here.

Step 14

Thread the hose for the washer through and connect it to the passage as well as the nozzle.

Step 15

Reinstall the brake light.

Step 16

Remove the remaining tape on the rear hatch and clean with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol).

Step 17

Since there are no clips on the new rear spoiler, you will need to seal the holes. There is tape included that you can use for this purpose.

Step 18

Place double-sided adhesive tape at the top edge of the new wing using Clear tape. Clean the area first with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol).

Step 19

Place the rear spoiler onto the car. Be careful not to press it too firmly, as you will likely need to make adjustments.

Step 20

Open the trunk to check if the holes are positioned correctly.

Step 21

Once you're satisfied, secure the wing in place using the provided screws.

Step 22

Reattach the cables and the panel on the inside of the hatch.

Step 23

Pull the passages for the brake light and washer through and ensure that they are positioned correctly.

Step 24

Put the panel back in place.
