A common sign that a brake caliper needs to be replaced is if the car pulls at an angle during heavy braking or one of the brake pads is showing significantly more wear. This can be caused by a defective component in the brake caliper which can effect the balance of the car causing a noticable pull on the steering wheel when braking. If the piston in the brake caliper gets stuck instead of sliding back after braking, it causes extra wear on the brake pads and can sometimes even warp the brake discs themselves.
